The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist crashed into railings in north west London.

Shortly after midnight Sunday 9 September into Monday 10 September 2018 a man riding a Honda motorcycle crashed on Dudden Hill Road, near Denzil Road, Neasden.

Prior to the crash the man, aged 22, was being followed by a marked police car. It is understood he received first aid from officers and was taken to hospital.

He suffered a fractured hip and foot.

A mandatory referral was made to the IOPC by the Metropolitan Police Service and we launched an independent investigation.

As part of our investigation we have received and reviewed body worn video footage which has suggested there may have been members of the public who witnessed the incident.

Our investigators have carried out enquiries in the nearby area and witness appeal boards have been placed in the vicinity of the crash.

We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any part of the incident. Please call 0800 096070 or email witness@policeconduct.gov.uk
