Appointment of Kathryn Cearns OBE as Chair of the OTS

The Treasury Committee has today published its report on the appointment of Kathryn Cearns OBE as Chair of the Office of Tax Simplification (OTS).

The Committee held the appointment session on 5 March 2019 and is satisfied that Mrs Cearns has the professional competence and personal independence to be appointed.

The Committee therefore consents to Mrs Cearns’ appointment and wishes her every success in her role.

Additionally, Rt Hon. Nicky Morgan MP, Chair of the Treasury Committee, has written to Mrs Cearns to request her presence at an evidence session with the Committee to discuss the work of the OTS when she has been in-role for around six months.
