Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy Programme
9 Apr 2014 02:41 PM
As a result of a Catalyst grant from
Arts Council England, The Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy (AFP) Programme
will run as a three-year project from 2013/14. It will offer people across the
arts and cultural sector training, traineeships, coaching, and digital skills
development to encourage innovative and effective practice in arts fundraising
and encourage a more entrepreneurial approach to income
generation.
Training Courses
AFP
is offering a wide range of training opportunities for people working across
the arts, at all stages of their career and at all scales of activity. This is
to support more people to develop fundraising skills, and to support more
people who already work in fundraising to refresh, broaden and strengthen their
skills.

other. Participants will benefit from:

period
- a

Charity Placements
AFP
is working in partnership with The Management
Centre to offer a series of unique placement opportunities with four
major UK-based charities. These are for people working in arts fundraising who
are keen to expand their knowledge and understanding of the Third Sector, would
benefit from working within larger Third Sector organisations, and can share
their learning with the wider arts sector.
The
placements are with British Heart Foundation, Science
Museum, WaterAid and World Vision and
are scheduled to start from May or June 2014 for a period of 4 weeks. The
deadline for applications is Tuesday 22 April 2014. A
further deadline will be announced later in the year.
In
addition, a half-day ‘Third Sector Insight Open Session’ will take
place in London on Monday 12 May 2014 to give people working in the arts an
introduction to how large charities structure and run their fundraising
operations, including how they set fundraising targets and acquire, and manage,
donors.
