Ben Digby, CBI International Director, said:

“It’s encouraging to see the Government make a robust case for free trade. A sincere partnership between UK businesses and Government will inject the confidence needed to ensure we can make the most of the opportunities available in Europe and around the world.

“Redefining our economic and trading links with Europe must be the first priority, as the Continent remains our biggest trading partner and the terms of our exit from the EU will help to shape what future trade deals look like.

“The UK is renowned for its innovative, ambitious and international firms of all sizes and sectors, which are focused on trading across the world and creating prosperity in all UK nations and regions.”
