CCC seeks new Chair for Adaptation Sub-Committee

The Committee on Climate Change is seeking a new Chair to lead the work of its Adaptation Sub-Committee (ASC) from 1 February 2017.

The ASC delivers advice on the Government’s approach to climate change adaptation through independent scrutiny of the UK’s National Adaptation Programme; provides recommendations to the UK Government and Devolved Administrations on its assessment of risks and opportunities from climate change; and provides specific advice, analysis, information or other assistance on issues relating to adaptation.

It is jointly sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), the Welsh Government, Scottish Government and Northern Ireland Executive.

The new Chair will succeed Lord Krebs who has led the six-memberAdaptation Sub-Committee since May 2009. Lord Krebs served a full five-year term, which was extended for a further two years in 2014.
