Call for applications for the Festival of Social Science now open

16 Apr 2019 02:34 PM

The 2019 Festival call is now open for applications. You can request up to receive up to £1,000 in funding, to organise a public engagement event. To be eligible your event must be held in the Festival week, which runs from 2-9 November 2019.

Festival applications will close at 16:00 on 10 May 2019.

In 2019 the Festival team is particularly keen to receive applications for events:

Since the Festival started back in 2002, over 2,300 events have been held reaching more than 242,500 people and bringing social science to life.

Don't forget, you can still apply to participate in the Festival, even if you don't need funding from us. You will have all the same sponsorship benefits in terms of support from our staff and promotion through a variety of channels, including press, website and social media (#ESRCFestival). Not only do you have all this, but previous event organisers have told us that being part of the Festival made it easier for them to obtain funds or in-kind services from other sources.

Need inspiration? Take a look at our previous events and our latest blog 'The speed of fright: research in a six minute slide show' by Rob McNeil or the 'The makings of a successful Festival event' by Dr Christopher Deeming.

We look forward to receiving this year's applications. If you have any questions in the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact festival@esrc.ukri.org
