Citizens Advice welcomes employment watchdog but calls for it to be set up 'as quickly as possible

Citizens Advice has responded to the announcement of an employment watchdog.

Dame Clare Moriarty, Chief Executive at Citizens Advice, says:

“An employment watchdog is a hugely welcome step in shoring up protections for workers. The government now needs to set it up as quickly as possible.

“We called for a one-stop shop for workers’ rights because we know firsthand the damage that can be caused by employers who don’t play by the rules.

“To support our recovery from this crisis, the government must ensure it is fully funded and can keep up with changes in the labour market.”
