Lord Jay of Ewelme, Chairman of the EU Home Affairs Sub-Committee, has written to Caroline Nokes MP, Minister of State for Immigration, expressing disappointment in the Government’s response to the Committee's Brexit: UK-EU movement of people report. The letter asks for an explanation as to why the response took so long, and to specify which of the recommendations and conclusions they are not in a position to respond to.

Background

The Government's response to the Brexit: UK-EU movement of people report was received on 13 December 2017. The Committee found that, in addition to being months overdue, the response failed to directly address many of the Committee's recommendations and conclusions and only partially addressed others.

Lord Jay of Ewelme has sent a letter to the Minister for Immigration, Caroline Nokes MP, inviting them to address the deficiencies in the Government's response.
