Constitution Committee publishes report on 2016-17

The Constitution Committee yesterday published its sessional report on the 2016-17 Session, which reviews the work of the committee over the last parliamentary year.

The Report details the work undertaken by the Committee during the 2016–17 session. Throughout the session the Committee:

In the Report the Committee raises concerns about the lack of policy detail and the delegation of broad powers in recent legislation. The Committee also says that it plans to scrutinise closely the bills that seek to implement Brexit in the current session and pay close attention to any consequences of Brexit on the UK’s devolution settlements.
