Data informs the case for regional collaboration

Data which informs
regional and national collaboration in providing public services has been
published
The compendium summarises the
demographic, economic and social characteristics of each of the six regional
footprint areas, including age profile, population density, employment, life
expectancy and levels of recorded crime.
Local Government and Government
Business Minister, Lesley Griffiths AM said:
“Public service reform is
at the heart of the vision set out in our Programme for Government for a fairer
and more prosperous Wales.
“This report will help the
public to scrutinise the performance of their local public services and is
useful in aligning Local Authority and regional boundaries with other public
services such as health and policing.
“It underlines the
importance of continuing work to improve public services while our response to
the Williams Commission report is being formulated.”
