The Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs commissioned a study on the uptake of emerging technologies in public procurement.

In 2019, the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs which is the European Commission Service responsible for EU policy on the single market, industry, entrepreneurship and small businesses, commissioned a study on the uptake of emerging technologies in public procurement. Emerging technologies have the potential to transform public procurement by enabling better decisions, reducing costs and increasing transparency, examples of these technologies include automating repetitive admin tasks to providing unprecedented information and analysis.
