Operators have been asking about energy security post Brexit. Emma Fryer has done some investigating.

Data centre operators always worry about security of electricity supply and their current concerns relate to the impact that Brexit may have on future generating capacity. 

In broad terms, Brexit looks unlikely to affect security of supply in any major way:  this doesn’t mean that the lights can’t go out, just that if they do, it’s unlikely to be directly attributable to our departure from the EU.  This briefing provides an overview of impacts of different Brexit scenarios for gas (for generation), electricity (through interconnects) and diesel (for standby), plus a list of useful sources of further information.
