GP Data Hub short listed for an HSJ award

An online information portal, designed to improve access to useful health data about GP services, has been short listed for a Health Service Journal award.

The GP Data Hub features in the 'Enhancing Care by Sharing Data and Information' category and brings all NHS Digital's GP practice facts and figures together in one place, enabling more people to access and make use of the data.

The GP data hub currently holds information on GP workforce, disease prevalence, dementia diagnosis rates, learning disabilities, patient online management information, cervical screening, and patient opt-outs. It provides this information through a series of interactive reports.

Director of Data and Integration at NHS Digital, Tom Denwood, said: "The HSJ awards are among the most prestigious in our sector, and the short listing of the GP Data Hub is a fantastic recognition of the work we are doing to improve health and social care through technology and innovation. I'm extremely proud of the work the project team has put in to make the hub a success."

The awards are now in their 36^th year and aim to 'recognise, celebrate and promote the finest achievements in the NHS'.

Kathryn Salt and Jonathan Carter from the project team will be presenting to the judges on 4 October to make the case for why our GP data hub should win the award. The main event will be held in London on 22 November 2017.
