Government unveils a new framework for managing COVID-19 in England

The PM has set out a new framework for managing COVID-19 with more discretion for employers and local authorities.

The Prime Minister has provided a major update as the UK continues to manage the outbreak of COVID-19 with a new framework for the management of COVID-19 in England.

New powers and guidance have been issued today for England that will provide greater discretion for local authorities and employers as the lockdown measures are eased, including plans for more targeted local approaches to manage new outbreaks of COVID-19.

In his speech the Prime Minister set out the upcoming key dates for the easing of social distancing measures in England and when new guidance can be expected:

Please note that these annoucements relate to England only, member companies with staff based in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales should refer to relevant guidance from the respective devolved governemnt's.
