Green technology awards: innovators win recognition for success

Businesses supported by Innovate UK won almost half the awards at this year's BusinessGreen Technology Awards.

Eight businesses supported by Innovate UK won awards for their cleantech innovations at this year’s BusinessGreen Technology Awards.

Winners included Professor Toby Peters, chief executive of Dearman, who was named innovator of the year, and Intelligent Energy, which won the awards for breakthrough of the year and technology of the year.

Exciting and innovative clean technologies

Five of the businesses – BuffaloGrid, Perpetual V2G, Whitefox Technologies, Cyan Technology and Intelligent Energy – have taken part in recent Clean and Cool Missions supported by Innovate UK, where they were able to meet like-minded companies overseas and talk to potential investors.

Many of the businesses have been awarded grants by Innovate UK in support of innovative projects they have undertaken.

The BusinessGreen Technology Awards celebrate the most exciting and innovative clean technologies in the UK today. Entries were judged on three criteria – innovation, scalability and demonstrable success.
