Dr Hannah White, Research Director at the Institute for Government, said: “This report recognises the challenges the Government faces in preparing for Brexit, in particular the need for departments to be properly resourced and given greater clarity regarding plans for Brexit.

The Prime Minister has an opportunity to address some of these challenges in her speech today. She needs to either set out the UK’s negotiating objectives, or explain when she intends to set them out. She should also use today’s speech as an opportunity to clarify Parliament’s role in the Brexit process.”
