King’s Honours for those in the project profession

The project profession is well represented in the King’s Birthday Honours List – the annual list of people being recognised by the British Monarch for their achievements or service to the country.

Nick Smallwood CBE

Among those receiving an Honour are Nick Smallwood, former CEO of the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA), who has been awarded a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for Services to Infrastructure and Project Delivery.

During his tenure as IPA Chief Executive, Nick Smallwood (pictured) led the transformation of the Government Project Delivery Function, and introduced professional accreditation and training programmes to enhance project delivery expertise across government.

APM Fellow Gareth Stapleton, Founder and Partner at RiSE International, was also awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for Services to Architecture and to Project and Construction Management.
