AXELOS – MAKING ORGANIZATIONS MORE EFFECTIVE
We’re delighted to announce that AXELOS is the latest stakeholder to sign up to the WiredGov channel.
AXELOS is a joint venture company created by the Cabinet Office on behalf of Her Majesty’s Government (HMG) in the United Kingdom and Capita plc to run the Global Best Practice Portfolio, including the ITIL® and PRINCE2® professional standards.
AXELOS is responsible for developing its range of best practice standards in collaboration with Examination Institutes (EIs) and Accredited Training Organizations (ATOs) which provide the training and administer examinations, leading to best practice qualifications.
In the first year of operating under the AXELOS name, they have built a company and a team. The new organization has focused on working collaboratively through listening to practitioners and partners across the globe and has also announced important plans for new best practice guidance to help individuals and businesses tackle emerging needs in IT, project management and professional development.
In 2014 work started on designing a best practice portfolio in Cyber Resilience, enhancing PRINCE2 to include agile delivery methods and developing Continuing Professional Development for practitioners using any of the AXELOS portfolio, all of which will come to fruition this year. And AXELOS’ introduction of recognition for prior training and qualifications issued by other professional bodies will continue to encourage individuals to see best practice, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, as complementary to their existing certification.
AXELOS publishes a wide spectrum of independent expert guidance through its programme of in-depth white papers, case studies and blog content. Its most recent publications include white papers on cyber resilience, cloud computing and DevOps which address some of the challenges in running organizations today.
Peter Hepworth, AXELOS CEO, said: “For a quarter of a century, businesses across the globe have benefited from the way in which our products help build more efficient and effective working processes.
“It is a privilege to be part of the growing AXELOS team and community; a passionate community from which we have learned how important it is to communicate in an interactive and mutually beneficial way.
“We are now in a strong position to take the business forward; growing best practice communities on a global scale, and creating a world-class continuous learning and development destination that is co-designed by and co-created for those who use it, improving skills and employability in the process.”
