Healthcare Business Connect Lancashire (HBCL), in which the Innovation Agency is a partner, recently ran their third SME showcase event with local members of the U3A in Ulverston.

HBCL helps Lancashire businesses working in the health and life sciences sector with products or services of interest to the NHS to make the right connections.

This was the first visit by the project to members at Coronation Hall in Ulverston following previous events held at their Ormskirk headquarters.

Seven businesses, supported by the Innovation Agency and Lancaster University with European funding, attended the event to showcase their innovations. U3A members had the opportunity to see what the NHS is doing with European funding to support products and solutions which benefit health and care systems in the region.

The businesses showcased at the event were:

  • PelliTec – blister plasters for diabetics;
  • Cryo Express – cryotherapy treatment;
  • NGPod – nasogastric positioning tool;
  • Intouch with Health – system used for speeding up a patient’s hospital journey using technology;
  • Rinicare – remote monitoring technology;
  • Alertacall – a fully staffed phone system with a built-in alternative to a pendant alarm for the elderly or vulnerable;
  • AI Rehab Ltd – knee injury rehab tool.
