The Maryhill Integration Network receives £10,000 to work with local men in a new film-making project with the theme of reducing violence against women.  The project will be delivered in partnership with Glasgow Media Co-op and Glasgow Community Safety Services.  The new digital material will be created for White Ribbon Campaign Scotland website.

Rose Filippi, Development Worker, Maryhill Integration Network, said:  “The award will allow us to expand upon previous work we have been developing with White Ribbon Scotland Campaign; working with men to end violence against women. The new film making project, in partnership with Media Coop, will create opportunities for men in the group to develop media skills, learning about the most effective ways to create and record campaign material, gaining skills in camera work, sound recording and lighting. Men from the group will also be in front of the camera as role models for the cause, something we hope will inspire other men across the country, breaking down cultural barriers, and involving more men from ethnic minorities in this important campaign.”

Based in Glasgow, The Daisy Foundation Ltd receives £10,000 to set up a new telephone support service to offer pre and after birth advice to new mothers.

Sian Gilmartin, Executive Director,The Daisy Foundation Ltd, said: "The Daisy Foundation are delighted to receive an Awards for All Scotland award! National Lottery Funding contributes to a vast amount of community benefit both nationally and locally, and we feel privileged that we can be a part of that process in Scotland. Our award will directly benefit women, infants and families in Scotland via a range of supportive measures aimed at the perinatal period, assisting women in their transition to Motherhood. This award will mean the wider availability of much needed emotional support to women experiencing challenges at this stage in their life.

An Awards for All spokesperson, said yesterday: “Today we are announcing over £192, 078 that will help communities in Glasgow set up and develop projects run for and by local people. What is clear is the smallest amount of funding can often make the biggest difference to people’s lives. All of these grants are a great way to show the variety of projects that can be funded through Awards for All.”
