MWUK: Impact of immigration on the public finances

In 2014/15, the cost to the UK Exchequer of immigration was £17bn.  The cost of European immigration was over £1bn.

Migration Watch has issued a working paper on the impact of immigration on UK public finances.  Their finding is that, in 2014/15, those in the UK from other European Economic Area (EEA) countries [1], whatever their date of arrival, cost the Exchequer £1.2 billion or over £3m a day.
