Making Procurement Work for All: Report Launch Event

24 Oct 2018 02:45 PM

Public sector colleagues and other stakeholders are invited to attend a launch event for the Making Procurement Work for All report , taking place on Monday 12 November in Newcastle.

Public sector contracts awarded for goods and services represent billions of pounds of investment each year. Traditional procurement procedures have sought best value for the public purse, but procurement power might also be used to enhance the quality of work in our communities.

In partnership with the Institute for Local Governance and North East Child Poverty Commission at Durham University Business School, The Carnegie Trust have investigated how procurement strategies might improve opportunities for fulfilling work across the North East of England. Their findings will be launched at a morning event in Newcastle.

In addition to the report findings, attendees will hear from the Federation of Small Businesses and the Trade Union Congress. The event will close with lunch and networking.
