In an article originally published on ConservativeHome, Open Europe’s Director Henry Newman writes that the decision on whether the UK has achieved “sufficient progress” in the talks is a political not a technical judgement, and that the key stumbling block is money.

Henry argues that in order to make progress in the negotiations the UK must provide more detail about what it is willing to pay.  Once the EU27 see the colour of our money, they will be more willing to talk trade.
