NCSC Director scoops prestigious cyber award

Paul Chichester, Director of Operations at the NCSC, has been recognised at the National Cyber Awards.

A leading awards ceremony recognising best practice in online security has named NCSC Director of Operations Paul Chichester as the ‘Cyber Citizen of the Year’.

The National Cyber Awards honour organisations and individuals who have meaningfully contributed to cyber innovation, web crime reduction and protecting citizens online.

Paul has worked in the UK government intelligence and security community for more than 25 years, including being a central figure in the creation and success of the NCSC.

His current role sees him manage the national response to significant cyber incidents and help the UK Government to understand and counter cyber threats.

Paul Chichester, Director of Operations, NCSC yesterday said:

“It’s an honour to receive the Cyber Citizen of the Year award and I’m grateful to the award’s judges for their recognition.

“Cyber security is a collective effort and it’s fantastic to be recognised alongside such a range of talented people working hard to keep the country safe online.”

Winners of the awards have come from a range of sectors including government, industry, law enforcement and academia.
