NCSC statement on the reported British Airways data breach

An NCSC statement following the reported data breach affecting British Airways.

An NCSC spokesperson said:

"We are aware of a data breach affecting British Airways (BA). We are working with partners to better understand this incident and how it has affected customers.

“The incident is reported to have affected some customers who made bookings on the BA website or app between August 21 and September 5, 2018. BA have reported that the compromised data includes names, email addresses and credit card information.

“The NCSC has published guidance for customers who think they may have been affected, and anybody who receives suspicious phone calls, emails or text messages should report them to Action Fraud.”
