NHS Shared Business Services Launches New Workforce Wellbeing Framework Agreement

Procuring Occupational Health, Employee Assistance Programmes & Optical Services is set to become quicker and easier, thanks to a new framework agreement launched by NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS).

The Workforce Wellbeing framework agreement includes all the lots previously covered by the Occupational Health and Wellbeing framework, but also includes optical services for eye care services on or off site.

The framework can be used by all public sector organisations, including local authorities, NHS organisations, educational institutions, the emergency services and others.  Organisations may choose to make a direct award to a supplier of their choice, or run a mini-competition to assess the suppliers and drive additional benefits.

Peter Akid, Director of Procurement at NHS Shared Business Services, explained:

“The new Workforce Wellbeing framework agreement has four Lots, covering Occupational Health, Employee Assistance Programmes, Occupational Health and EAP combined and Optical Services.  All suppliers on the framework are carefully assessed for both quality and value.  We are confident that using this framework will allow organisations to focus on proactive health and wellbeing, fostering a healthy and motivated workforce that can ultimately deliver enhanced productivity and reducing sickness levels.”
