Notes for Editors

  1. Figures that are presented as percentages are rounded to one decimal place. All figures over a million are rounded to the nearest 10,000. All figures between 100,000 and 1,000,000 are rounded to the nearest thousand.
  2. A person is considered to be ‘in contact’ with services in this publication if they have had an open referral with secondary mental health, learning disabilities and autism services during 2020-21. This may include referrals which did not result in an attendance with a service or treatment being received
  3. Perinatal Mental Health Services include support for mental health problems which occur during pregnancy or in the first year following the birth of a child.
  4. Restrictive interventions include physical restraint, chemical restraint, mechanical restraint seclusion and segregation.
