techUK is delighted to announce the members of the Local Public Services Committee.

Nominations to join techUK’s Local Public Services Committee (LPSC) opened this summer and I’m delighted to announce the new members.

Composed of 24 techUK members, 8 SME reps and 15 from larger companies, this year’s LPSC brings together a diverse range of tech industry leaders who will champion the sector and drive an ambitious programme of activity between techUK and local public services.

The pandemic has been a catalyst of digital change for many councils and as such are at a critical juncture in their transformation, the LPSC will provide a neutral forum for local government stakeholders to engage with industry, have  constructive dialogue as well as horizon scan how the technology of today and tomorrow can solve some of the most pressing issues for people and places.

The committee is committed to engaging and hearing from as many local authorities as possible and will be meeting at least once a quarter in the regions to hear directly from a local public service leader. If you would like to host a future meeting or join a virtual one get in touch now with Georgina Maratheftis!

Now for the part you’ve been waiting for, please see below our new members:

Faith la Grange, Director, Local & Regional Government, Microsoft newly elected chair yesterday said:

“I’m thrilled to be re-elected Chair of the Local Public Services Committee (LPSC). The LPSC brings together a diverse group of suppliers both small and large to agree a common agenda to best support the transformation of local public service and improve citizen outcomes.”

“I look forward to working with the committee, wider techUK membership and local public services to horizon scan how tech can transform our places and improve outcomes for people as we plan for recovery and building back fairer and better for all. At the heart of this is collaboration and I’m excited for what we can achieve together to drive real value across the local govtech ecosystem.”

“It’s been an extraordinary time for local authorities, who have worked tremendously hard to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on communities and services. Now is the time for councils to reflect and take stock of the good digital learnings and as a committee we want to hear and learn from councils about their transformation journeys, challenges they have faced, and key asks to industry on how we can better work together to facilitate better partnerships that deliver a shared ambition of better outcomes for all citizens. If you’re a local authority that wants to share your digital strategy do get in touch, as we are keen to grow our regional engagement as well as hear what you think we should be focusing on. We are ready and willing to learn, share, listen with our partners across local public services.”
