As part of the Leeds Digital Festival, yesterday saw the official opening of Co>Space North; a new health and care collaboration, co-working and innovation space in Leeds city centre.

NHS Digital has joined representatives from NHS England, Leeds City Council and Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust to develop a hub for engaging with innovators, small medium enterprises (SMEs) and health and care professionals.

The partnership supports NHS Digital’s commitment to working collaboratively to deliver the technology and digital ambitions outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan.

James Hawkins, Director of Strategy (ai) at NHS Digital yesterday said:

“Leeds has a proud heritage of being home to exciting and innovative health tech organisations, large and small and in both the public and private sectors.

“Places like Co>Space North create room for the next generation of companies to innovate, get some space and flourish.  Effective partnerships are the key to success and this new venture will provide a fertile ground for collaboration.

“I look forward to seeing the new technologies and research that will come out of Co>Space North.”
