techUK members can now nominate themselves for a position on the Local Public Services Committee

Are you an industry leader in local government? We want to hear from YOU!

Nominations now open for twenty techUK members to join our Local Public Services Committee (LPSC) for a tenure of two years (October 2019 – July 2021). The LPSC drives techUK’s work for delivering better local public service outcomes and working with councils and wider tech industry to create the environment that enables transformation to happen and innovation to flourish at the local level. Over the last two years the committee has been hosted by several councils and worked closely with the new Local Digital team at the Ministry for Housing and Local Government on the supplier’s response to the Local Digital Declaration.

The primary role of the LPSC is to represent the tech sector at a high level to local government and all relevant bodies and sets the strategic direction of techUK’s Local Government programme, contributing to forward planning and ensuring the programme accurately reflects members’ priorities.

We are also electing the positions of Chair and two Vice-Chairs of the Committee (one is reserved for an SME Vice Chair). Ten of the seats on the Committee are reserved for Small and Medium sized Enterprise (SME) representatives. You may nominate yourself for either Chair or Vice-Chair positions. If so, you will also nominate yourself for membership of the committee automatically.

To nominate yourself or a colleague, simply read through the Terms of Reference (ToR) and complete the form and return it to Georgina Maratheftis by 17:00 Friday 2 August.
