GRANTS are being offered to community groups and non-profit organisations for new cycle safety initiatives in the capital. Up to £10,000 in funding is available for local projects such as cycle training, bike maintenance and guided rides.
The scheme, launched by TfL in conjunction with regeneration charity Groundwork, is designed to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to cycle safely.
TfL's director of surface strategy and planning, Ben Plowden, said: 'We hope that community groups will take up the challenge and develop projects that will hone the skills of nfrequent riders and those new to cycling.'
