Public exhibitions for A82 upgrade

17 Sep 2015 02:30 PM

Local communities and road users are being invited to view upgrade plans for the 10-mile stretch of the A82 which hugs the shoreline between Tarbet and Inverarnan.

A series of public exhibitions starting in Arrochar on 30 September will give local residents and road users the opportunity to view the preferred route option, meet the design team and provide feedback.

Transport Minister Derek Mackay said:

“The stretch of the A82 between Tarbet and Inverarnan presents many complex engineering challenges and environmental considerations, given its location between Loch Lomond and the West Highland rail line.

“However, we are committed to ensuring this key route connecting the central belt to the Highlands and Islands is fit for purpose and have already pressed ahead with the initial £2 million design programme.

“We now have a preferred route option identified and we are keen to unveil our proposals.

“I would encourage anyone with an interest to come along to one of the venues over the next few weeks to view our plans and to have an opportunity to discuss them with our team and provide their comments on our plans.”
