RLA launches 2019 election campaign

The RLA’s vision for the PRS of the future has been outlined ahead of December’s General Election.

Following the launch of the RLA’s six-point manifesto last week , the association has launched a new election hub for members.

The manifesto outlines the key issues politicians need to address to create a fair and functioning PRS for the benefit of landlords and tenants alike.

The new pages include the manifesto itself, as well as detailed briefings on each key element of the proposals, background and research materials and downloadable resources.

Get involved

In addition, landlords will be able to get involved themselves with the option to share their experiences directly with the RLA policy team for use in the 2019 election campaign.

Tools are also under development to allow members to send letters backing the RLA’s proposals to Parliamentary candidates in their area.

RLA policy manager John Stewart yesterday said:

“The manifesto includes six key asks which we believe will help create a PRS that works for all.

“Our proposals will give good landlords the confidence they need to continue to invest and provide the homes to rent the country so desperately needs, while supporting tenants, particularly those who are vulnerable.

“If we are to succeed in getting politicians to sit up and take notice, we need members to get behind us, share their experiences and contact their local candidates to make sure landlord voices are being heard.”
