A report highlighting
the good progress the Welsh Government is making in achieving its aim of ending
violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence has been
published
The annual report on our
“Right to be Safe Strategy” shows that 81 of the 89 actions have
already been completed and how work to deliver the remaining eight is well
underway.
Local Government and Government
Business Minister, Lesley Griffiths AM said:
“It is good to see the
excellent progress we have made in tackling all forms of domestic abuse and
violence against women, including sexual violence since launching the strategy
in 2010.
“The landscape has changed
significantly since 2010 and I am grateful to everyone who contributed to the
progress we have made in addressing this terrible crime over the last four
years.
“I will be bringing
forward legislation in June and am sure this will allow us to take a huge step
forward in seeking to end all violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual
violence in Wales.”
