Detail of outcome
This document presents the government response to questions relating to the new uninsured drivers agreement 2015 which will come into effect on 1 August 2015.
A further government response to questions relating to the untraced drivers agreement will be published prior to the signing of a new untraced drivers agreement.

We have decided to publish a summary of responses to the consultation whilst the department and Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB) work out next steps. We will produce a complete government response document at a later stage, following our discussions with the MIB.

Consultation description
The Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB) deals with claims from motorists involved in accidents with uninsured or untraced drivers.
The MIB acts as the insurer of last resort under agreements made with the Department for Transport. These agreements are reviewed from time to time to incorporate any necessary changes.
