Royal Navy life on camera

The winners of this
year's Royal Navy photographic competition have been
announced.
Royal Navy photographers that
deploy with warships and commando units across the world have been recognised
for their talent at the prestigious annual Peregrine Trophy
awards.
With over 350 professional and
65 amateur entries this year, the competition was fierce. But it was whittled
down to just 6 winners by a panel of experts, with Petty Officer (Photographer)
Mez Merrill taking the coveted Peregrine Trophy with his selection of 6
images.
The purpose of the awards is to
encourage the production of eye-catching imagery that can be used in the media
to demonstrate Royal Navy and Royal Marines’ operations.
