Solve for Tomorrow is focused on encouraging young people to embrace the potential of technology to provide solutions to some of the pressing challenges society faces today. Samsung are inviting young people aged between 16-25, irrespective of their knowledge of technology to submit ideas and proposals which they believe will address four key challenge areas: education, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and social isolation.

Samsung, who are delivering the initiative in partnership with Digital Catapult, the UK’s leading advanced digital technology innovation centre, will support entrants to develop their ideas further through a range of masterclasses, workshops and coaching on design-thinking, digital technologies and business skills, as well as one-to-one mentoring from Samsung employees.

Entries will be judged by Samsung, Digital Catapult and independent industry judges based on a selection of criteria including creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration

Selected participants will be supported to refine and prototype their ideas and the winner will be announced in July 2021 following a competitive pitch process. The winner will benefit from six months’ worth of support from Samsung and Digital Catapult to help develop a proof of concept of their idea, as well as a £10,000 cash prize and Samsung technology. There will be further cash and product prizes for runners up.

Those interested in taking part can apply via the Samsung website here. Entries must be submitted by Sunday 21 February and shortlisted ideas will be announced on 8 March 2021.
