Senior HEFCE executive receives honour

HEFCE’s Deputy Chief Executive, Steve Egan, has been awarded a CBE in the 2014 Queen’s Birthday Honours list. 

Tim Melville-Ross, Chair of HEFCE, said:

'This award recognises Steve’s exceptional service and commitment to HEFCE, and to higher education more widely, over many years. It is a fantastic achievement, and thoroughly deserved.'

Steve was appointed to the post in September 2006. Prior to that he was Director of Finance and Corporate Resources at HEFCE.  In these roles he has been responsible for finance and funding, and for the Council's work to support leadership, governance and management in higher education.
