Step by Step’s Aldershot Foyer, which is already accredited with The Foyer Federation’s top level of accreditation; Thriving Status, was recognised in the national awards as the UK’s best performing Foyer - delivering outstanding outcomes and opportunities for the young people it supports.

The Foyer Federation Foyer Awards recognise the achievements and dedication going across the network of around 100 Foyers. Step by Step is understandably delighted with the recognition which gives the highest level of credibility to their work – putting young people at the centre of their every decision.

Jamie Neil, Chair of the Board said: “It is such an honour for our Step Workers to be recognised in winning the Foyer of the Year Award. It is a privilege for me personally to work with our staff who are supporting young people on their journey through life. I would like to thank the Step by Step team for their passion and commitment, often in difficult circumstances, in delivering the highest quality of service to young people - encouraging them to achieve their full potential.”

Young people are at the centre of every development within Step by Step and their focus remains on those young people’s aspirations. Step by Step’s pioneering and responsive services support young people to succeed and give them the skills and resilience to do so independently, and in a sustained way. In line with this, they believe that the Award is really a testament to the achievements of young people.

Debbie Moreton, Head of Young People’s Services said, “Receiving the Foyer of the Year Award is a wonderful accolade. We’re thrilled that the standard set by the way we work with young people is being recognised in this way. While young people come to us when they are facing hard times, our focus on their skills and talents enables them to look forward to a brighter future.”
