Supporting Summer Schools

This year we’ve seen first-hand the positive impact arts and creativity has had on children and young people’s lives. In light of the Department for Education’s (DfE) Summer School programme we wanted to let you know of three ways we’re supporting schools to keep children and young people feeling good as we begin to recover from Covid-19 and they transition into secondary school.  

Being creative and using your imagination can be the starting point for the group activities and celebrations delivered as part of your summer school offer.  

Music Education Hubs

Music Education Hubs are groups of organisations – such as local authorities, schools, other hubs, arts organisations, community or voluntary organisations – that work together to provide excellent music education for all young people.

Bridge Organisations

Our Bridge Organisations are a network of 10 organisations across the country that connect the cultural sector and the education sector so that children and young people can have access to great arts and cultural opportunities. 

They work with local schools, arts organisations, museums, libraries, Music Education Hubs, local authorities, Further Education and Higher Education Institutions and many other partners to develop a network of cultural provision. 

Each of our Bridge Organisations have databases of arts and cultural organisations that schools can use to search for partners to work with.

Artsmark

Artsmark is the only creative quality standard for schools accredited by the Arts Council. Artsmark's flexible framework supports schools to embed arts, culture and creativity across the whole curriculum as well as supporting pupil and staff wellbeing.

The Artsmark programme can also connect you with local arts and cultural organisations through the Artsmark Partnership Programme. This is an endorsed network of arts and cultural organisations that understand the Artsmark criteria and can support you on your Artsmark journey to embed arts and culture across all subjects.
