To ensure our qualifications offer learners varied progression routes following their completion, we engage the expertise of professionals working in the industry so that their content is fit for purpose and relevant to the sector.
This also means our qualifications align to Higher Education qualifications as we develop them using content that instils valuable, transferable and recognisable skills, similar to those that they will be expected to demonstrate at university.
Our Level 3 Diploma and Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism have both recently received recognition from the University of Sunderland for their robust and relevant content.
Dr. James Scott, Head of School Tourism, Hospitality and Events at University of Sunderland said: “NCFE travel qualifications are a great foundation for learners who wish to progress to Higher Education as the content and assessment methods help learners develop valuable skills such as self-directed study, critical thinking, problem solving and working collaboratively.”
James also praised the qualifications for their strong industry links. NCFE worked closely with aviation services company, Swissport, during the design of the qualifications. The suitability of this partnership is particularly recognised by the University of Sunderland, who also have an ongoing partnership with Swissport.
This is particularly encouraging for learners wishing to begin their travel and tourism career with an NCFE qualification; as the Hospitality, Event Management and Tourism courses offered by the University of Sunderland are highly regarded, ranking 2nd in the UK according to the Guardian University league tables.
