Start-ups can now apply to the Geovation Accelerator Programmes and put themselves in line to receive specialist support, business mentorship, office space, funding and access to high quality government data.

Geovation was launched in 2010 by Ordnance Survey to support innovative start-ups using location and property data. Geovation operates two Accelerator Programmes run in association with HM Land Registry and Registers of Scotland. These provide promising GeoTech and PropTech start-ups with resources and the focused guidance and support to help them develop and thrive.

The Geovation and Geovation Scotland Accelerator Programmes have been assembled to propel pre-seed or seed stage start-ups using location or property data to the next level. Now entering its fifth year, the Programme has established a track record of success having supported 111 British-based start-ups into thriving businesses, which has seen the creation of more than 400 new jobs and £61M invested into the start-ups.

Head of Geovation, Alex Wrottesley, yesterday said:

“To succeed, start-ups need nurturing, and access to experience, expertise and quality data. That is what we do with our Programmes. We provide warm and welcoming environments that encourage them to thrive. Without that intense level of support, it is much harder for start-ups to make an impact.

“We are eager to hear from and help ambitious start-ups that use location and/or property data, and who have a clearly defined business plan but lack the resources needed to deliver it.”
