UKRPIF funding of £220 million available to develop leading-edge research facilities

15 Sep 2017 01:33 PM

Round 6 of the UK Research Partnership Investment Fund will make £220 million available to universities across the UK for the development of leading-edge research facilities that support collaboration and excellent research. Interested universities need to submit an initial notification by 10 November 2017.

Building on the successes of the last five rounds of the UK Research Partnership Investment Fund (UKRPIF), HEFCE is inviting proposals from UK universities, alone or in partnership with other higher education institutions and eligible Research Council Institutes, for large-scale projects to develop new research facilities.

Projects can apply for between £10 million and £50 million from UKRPIF. For every £1 of UKRPIF funding they need to attract £2 in additional funding from private sources, whether businesses, charities or individual donations. The funding is available to be spent in the 2020-21 financial year.

The deadline for early notification of expressions of interest is noon on Friday 10 November 2017, with expressions of interest to be submitted in January 2018.
