Gareth Redmond-King, Head of Energy and Climate Change at WWF commented on Claire Perry's speech on accelerating climate action in the Commonwealth

“Previously the UK has led, internationally, on climate action. At the Paris Agreement the whole world caught up and was united in tackling climate change. Now the UK has the opportunity, and clearly the desire, once again to take the lead. Today we become the first G7 nation to step up and begin the huge task of delivering the ambition and hopes of Paris. This is a vital step in being the first generation to leave the environment in a better state than we found it."
