Witness appeal following arrest in Swansea

4 Oct 2018 11:46 AM

We are appealing for witnesses to a man’s arrest in Swansea by South Wales Police officers.

The 35-year-old man was restrained and arrested by two plain-clothed police officers at a bus stop outside Brunel Court flats in Walter Road at around 9.30am on Thursday 30 August 2018.

He later lost consciousness in custody and was taken to hospital but has since made a full recovery.

Our investigation follows a mandatory referral from South Wales Police. We are investigating the circumstances of the arrest of a man and how he lost consciousness in Swansea custody suite.

We would like to identify a possible witness who was near the bus stop at the time of the incident. He was wearing black jogging bottoms, a white t-shirt and white trainers. We would ask that he, or anyone else who witnessed the arrest, calls our investigators on 0800 151 0021 or emails brunelcourt@policeconduct.gov.uk
