Putting the needs of end users at the heart of public buildings - YPO has launched Embrace Space Design, a rebranded furniture and design offering that provides schools and public sector organisations with end-to-end support for furniture and spaces.

Unveiled at the Education Estates show in Manchester last week, the offering helps customers to transform new and existing spaces.

Its philosophy recognises that lighting, flexibility, accessibility and colour can improve how people work, learn and connect, with a growing body of research showing that learning environments can significantly affect pupils’ educational outcomes.

This innovative approach builds on YPO’s furniture expertise, which dates back to 1974, by combining compliant procurement mechanisms, catalogue products and an experienced in-house design team.

This combination gives customers a choice of procurement frameworks that helps them identify solutions, secure value for money and reduce administrative burdens. It also offers design services, a comprehensive website, and a catalogue of readily available furniture to transform tired environments into vibrant spaces.

Customers can access support in key areas, including planning, selecting and procuring furniture for classrooms, nurseries, outdoor areas, offices, receptions, breakout spaces, libraries and inclusive environments.

They can also continue to order furniture through the YPO catalogue, while Embrace Space Design provides support for projects of all sizes.

The offering has already supported Kirklees Council’s Our Cultural Heart regeneration programme in transforming Huddersfield Library Hub, with YPO providing procurement, design and installation services.

Philippe Galland, YPO’s Brand Manager, said: “Embrace Space Design is our people-focused design philosophy, ensuring every space meets the customer’s needs – from small projects to large regeneration schemes.

“The rebrand draws on our years of experience to put the end user at the heart of every project. As an educational supplier with more than 50 years of experience, we understand how spaces can affect educational outcomes, especially for SEND learners and provision.”

Jack Appleton, YPO Category Lead for Furniture & Design, added: “We are pleased to launch the rebranded furniture offering, strengthening YPO’s position as a furniture expert and raising awareness of the support available to customers.

“Our procurement and design teams have the experience to manage the entire process from start to finish, transforming spaces and positively affecting lives.”

Education Estates is a multi-stream conference and exhibition focused on education infrastructure, delivered in partnership with the Department for Education.

YPO attended as a first-time exhibitor. The Wakefield-based organisation is 100% publicly owned and committed to delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions without compromising on performance.
