Led by the Digital Catapult and the Future Cities Catapult, IoTUK will look to advance the UK’s Global leadership in IoT.

IoTUK has launched as part of the Government's £40million investment in IoT. It is a three year programme that will look to maximise the impact of the Government's £40 million IoT investment programme. A major part of its responsibilities will be taking a lead role in coordinating and managing the organisations scheduled to be appointed to deliver the recently announced projects and demonstrators in smart cities and the NHS. In addition to this, IoTUK is also expected to take a significant role in promoting UK IoT capabilities.

techUK worked closely with government and industry partners (including the Catapults) to ensure that targeted IoT funding was included in the March 2015 Budget announcement. techUK is, therefore, delighted to see IoTUK launched.

techUK Associate Director, Rob McNamara, commented:

"The Government's £40 million investment in IoT will play a crucial role in helping the UK seize the opportunities it presents. The role of IoTUK in coordinating and managing the initiatives that will emerge out of the government's investment will be highly valuable – so too will be their commitment to promoting UK capabilities in this space. techUK – the voice of the UK tech industry – looks forward to working closely with IoTUK as its gears into action.''
