Young Masters Art Prize open for submissions

The Young Masters Art Prize is now open for entry submissions with 30 April 2012 announced as the deadline.

The bi-annual contest - aimed at giving global recognition to artists who are just starting out - is to be curated by Russian-born Daria Khan who, along with a panel of judges, will produce a shortlist of 15-20 artists.

These will be announced in June when there will be a fundraiser in London with previous Young Masters exhibiting.

A £5,000 prize awaits the winner who, with those shortlisted, will be able to exhibit in projects throughout 2013.

Two other 'highly commended' artists will be offered £500 each from the Artists' Collecting Society and advice will be offered to all the shortlisted artists on issues such as copyright and how to market their art.

The three winners together can also hold selected images at the Bridgeman Art Library.

Entrants can submit their works of art through the website and the awards ceremony and main display will be held at the end of November at Gallery 27, Cork Street, with the display also being hosted at Sphinx Fine Art, Kensington.
