We've made a submission to the Commission on Integration and Cohesion, giving views and advice on the following issues within rural communities:

  • Migrant workers

  • Rural demographics

The Commission on Integration and Cohesion is an independent body chaired by Darra Singh, Chief Executive of Ealing Council, set up by the DCLG in August 2006. Its remit  is to consider how "local areas can make the most of the benefits delivered by increasing diversity" and also to "consider how they can respond to the tensions it can sometimes cause". It will report to the Secretary of State, Ruth Kelly, in June 2007
