Healthy Communities CoP launch

The Healthy Communities Community of Practice (CoP) has been established to provide a forum for anyone dedicated to promoting good health and reducing health inequalities.

A community of practice is a network of individuals with common challenges or interests. A CoP provides a valuable tool for councils and their partners to share good practice, spread information and aid improvement throughout the public sector.

Using the CoP, members will share ideas, information, knowledge and good practice. This will help find solutions while expanding knowledge, thus promoting healthy communities for all.

Professor Mike Kelly, Director of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NIHCE)’s Centre for Public Health Excellence, says:

“NIHCE warmly welcomes the new communities of practice online network for public health professionals. NIHCE is keen to receive feedback from practitioners to help inform its public health guidance, and in particular, on the most effective ways of delivering interventions in communities.

“The IDeA’s new initiative creates a valuable channel to do that, and will complement NIHCE’s existing shared learning section. The CoP will extend opportunities for professionals across different sectors to share their expertise in getting public health guidance into practice.”
